Summit!

The 3DM May 27-29 climbed to the summit of Mount Rainier today. It was a bit windy and we descended in a whiteout. All is well and people are looking forward to a hot meal back in town.

5/15 Rainier Climb Summits!

Woohoo!
Guide Brent Langlinais here, pleased to report that our team stood atop Mt. Rainier during sunrise and is back to civilization, safe and sound. The climb was tough and the route is long, but determination and training have paid off and our trip was a wonderful success.

Congrats.

5/15 Rainier Climb napping at high camp.

Guide Brent Langlinais here, reporting from high camp on the Ingraham Glacier, south side of Mount Rainier. Today is day two of our three day trip and we arrived here at 11,200 feet about an hour ago under clear sunny skies and unseasonal hot temperatures. We are planning a super early start to our summit attempt tomorrow, and for now our team is doing great and taking a midday nap out of the sun before an early dinner and a big day ahead.

Cheers,
Brent

5/13 Rainier Climb Soaks up the Sun

The Rainier team that launched from Seattle yesterday is enjoying loads of sunshine, zero wind, and absolutely brilliant weather on the Flats.  Fingers crossed for a successful summit bid tonight...

5/11 Rainier Team Gives it a Try

In spite of less than ideal conditions on the mountain this week, our Rainier team which departed Seattle on May 11th still pushed for a summit attempt in the pre-dawn hours yesterday.   Unfortunately, they only made it to the top of the Cleaver before low visibility, increasing snowfall, and generally poor conditions turned them around.  Although they didn't nab the summit, a good time (and way too much bacon) was had by all.

5/9 Rainier Team Summits!

We're proud to report that our first climb of the season was a success!  Despite breezy conditions, five people summited the mountain early Monday morning.  The season is off to a great start. Yahoo!

April 25th Denali Prep Summits!

We're happy to announce that the Denali Prep Course which kicked off on April 25th summited Rainier last Friday.   Between crevasse rescue practice, self arrest training, and teaching a host of other essential mountaineering skills, AAI guides Victor and Sam were able to snap some great pictures!
