Alpine Ascents April 11-18th Denali Prep Course had a spectacular time on and around Mount Rainier! Conditions for the course were perfect for giving students an idea of what they might see at times on Denali, with some heavy snow and cold temperatures for the first four days on Mazama Ridge and clear skies and calm weather for the last half of the course to allow us to head up higher on the mountain. After spending a night high on the Muir Snowfield, we spent our last two nights at Camp Muir where we were able to practice crevasse rescue on the Cowlitz Glacier, and were able to get as high as just above Ingraham Flats (11,200ft). It was a fun crew, good times were had, lots of skills were learned and we look forward to seeing our students on future Denali Expeditions!
